Welcome to Nepal! Upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, a representative from Himalayan Adventure International Treks will warmly greet you and transfer you to your hotel in Kathmandu. After check-in, you’ll have time to rest or explore the lively streets of Thamel, the city's tourist hub. In the evening, we’ll host a welcome dinner where you’ll meet your guide and fellow climbers.
Today is reserved for preparation and final checks. After breakfast, we’ll conduct a detailed climbing briefing at our office. You’ll review the itinerary, check personal gear, and if needed, shop for any last-minute equipment. This day also gives you a chance to explore some UNESCO World Heritage Sites like Swayambhunath (Monkey Temple) or Pashupatinath Temple.
Take a scenic early morning flight to Lukla, the gateway to the Everest region. After landing at one of the world’s most thrilling airstrips, we begin a gradual ascent through rhododendron and pine forests to Chutanga, a peaceful alpine village surrounded by lush greenery. Overnight at a local teahouse.
A challenging day begins as we ascend steeply to the Zatrawala Pass, offering the first panoramic views of Kusum Kanguru, Karyolung, and the Dudh Koshi Valley. After crossing the pass, we descend to the high grazing pastures of Zatrabok, nestled in an alpine wilderness. Overnight in tents or lodges.
Descend along rocky trails through juniper and rhododendron forests, entering the majestic Hinku Valley. The air becomes thinner as we follow the Hinku River to Kothe, a beautiful spot nestled along the riverbanks. Overnight at a lodge with mountain views.
The trail gradually climbs alongside the Hinku Khola, passing grazing yaks, alpine meadows, and stunning views of Mera Peak's north face. After crossing several suspension bridges and yak herder camps, we reach Thangnak, a small settlement surrounded by towering rock walls. Overnight at a lodge.
To avoid altitude sickness, we take a rest and acclimatization day at Thangnak. Optional hikes to the nearby Sabai Tsho glacial lake or Charpate Himal viewpoint offer spectacular vistas and help your body adjust to the elevation. Overnight in Thangnak.
Today’s trek is a scenic but strenuous walk over glacial terrain and rocky moraines. As we climb toward Khare, the last settlement before Mera Peak Base Camp, the views of Mera Glacier and Mera Peak become stunningly clear. Overnight at a lodge in Khare.
We ascend gradually to Mera Base Camp, then carefully climb a steep section over snow and ice to reach Mera High Camp. The camp is perched on a rocky outcrop with phenomenal views of Everest, Makalu, Lhotse, and Cho Oyu. Overnight in tents.
An early alpine start begins your summit attempt of Mera Peak, the highest trekking peak in Nepal. Using fixed ropes and ice axes, you’ll ascend gradually to the summit ridge. From the top, enjoy 360-degree views of the Himalayas. After celebrations and photos, descend through glaciers and snowfields to Khongma Dingma for the night.
We traverse through the pristine and rarely visited Honku Valley, a remote wilderness surrounded by hanging glaciers and untouched landscapes. After a long yet rewarding day, we reach the mystical Seto Pokhari, or “White Lake,” a sacred glacial lake. Overnight in tents.
Today is set aside to rest and acclimatize before the challenging Amphu Lapcha Pass. You can explore the glacial lakes, read, or simply enjoy the remoteness of the wilderness. Overnight in the peaceful surroundings of Seto Pokhari.
We continue our journey towards the Amphu Lapcha La Base Camp, gradually ascending through rock and moraine terrain. This night will be spent camping at the base of one of Nepal’s most technical and breathtaking high mountain passes.
A technical day begins with an early start as we climb Amphu Lapcha La Pass, which requires fixed ropes and careful movement across ice and rock. The view from the top is unforgettable. After a long descent, we reach Island Peak Base Camp, where we rest and prepare for the next summit.
Another early alpine start leads us to the summit of Island Peak, a beautiful climb with technical sections including crevasse crossings, ice walls, and a steep summit ridge. After reaching the top, with views of Lhotse, Nuptse, and Ama Dablam, we descend safely to base camp.
We rejoin the classic Everest Base Camp trail and trek through alpine meadows and yak pastures to Pangboche, home to one of the oldest monasteries in the Khumbu. A relaxing evening awaits in this tranquil Sherpa village.
Descend through lush forests and suspension bridges to the vibrant town of Namche Bazaar, the commercial heart of the Khumbu region. Enjoy bakeries, internet cafes, and souvenir shops in this bustling Sherpa hub. Overnight at a comfortable lodge.
Our final trekking day follows the Dudh Koshi River through Phakding and Monjo to reach Lukla. Celebrate your expedition with your guides and porters over a hearty meal. Overnight at a teahouse.
Take an early flight back to Kathmandu, where you’ll be transferred to your hotel. The rest of the day is free for shopping, relaxation, or optional sightseeing. In the evening, we gather for a farewell dinner to celebrate your incredible journey.
This buffer day helps accommodate any weather delays in Lukla. You can spend the day exploring Bhaktapur, Patan, or relaxing with a traditional Ayurvedic massage. Enjoy your final night in the capital city.
Our representative will escort you to the airport for your final departure. We hope your experience with Himalayan Adventure International Treks has been enriching, and we look forward to welcoming you again for another Himalayan adventure.
